As a result of the recent prolonged heavy rain and unusually strong wave action many parts of the British coast are actually or potentially in an unstable condition.  This obviously has an impact on the safety of coast path walking.  It may well take many weeks before conditions are back to normal.
We are therefore taking the precaution of not accepting further bookings for tours on coast path routes in England and Wales for  start dates** before 1 May 2014.
This affects the following tours in the Discerning Traveller 2014 programme:

  • D6 & D8  Dorset Coast Path & Purbeck Ridgeway;
  • E7 Exmoor Coast & National Park;
  • F6 South Cornwall: Polperro, Fowey, Mevagissey;
  • J5 & J8 Jurassic Coast of Devon & Dorset;
  • K7 Pembrokeshire Coast: Skomer & St David’s;
  • P7 North Pembrokeshire;
  • T6 & T8 Tintagel Coast;
  • W5 & W7 Land’s End & St Ives;
  • X5 & X7 Sussex: Seven Sisters & Rye.

**‘Start date’ is the day on which your own tour will start.   We are still accepting bookings on all the above tours for start dates from 1 May onwards.
Our inland tours (Lake District, Cotswolds, Welsh Borderland) are unaffected by the coastal conditions.
